Banana Bread in a Mason Jar
1/2 banana bread (recipe here)
about 6.5 oz cream cheese (room temp) 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 3 sprinkles ground cinnamon 1 sprinkle ground nutmeg 1 sprinkle ground cloves Directions: If you haven't yet, make your banana bread (recipe link here. I prefer no chocolate chips for this). When it's finished, let it cool and then cut it in half. Set one half aside for eating later, and leave the other one out. Put cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix with a hand mixer on medium speed for about 30 seconds. Add sugar, and beat until mixed in. Add vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, and beat until mixed in. Refrigerate this mixture in a small bowl. Now, take your banana bread, and cut it into one inch cubes. Set about half of these aside, and cut the other half into smaller pieces. Put all of the cut up banana bread into your mixing bowl, take the cream cheese mixture out of the fridge, and add it to the banana bread. mix this with a spatula or your fingers. Put into mason jars. The amount of mason jars depends on the amount you put in each. I used three, 8 oz mason jars, filling them each about half way. Either serve right away or refrigerate. Enjoy! |
