Dinner rolls
Requires a bread machine3/4 cup water
1 egg 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp salt 3 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons sugar 1 1/2 tsp dry yeast 2 tbsp melted butter Directions: Put all ingredients except the melted butter in the bread machine pan. Place in the machine, put on dough setting, and press Start. Grease a large baking sheet. When the bread machine finishes making the dough, take out of the bread machine and put it on a lightly floured surface. Stretch the dough out into a rope. With a shark knife, divide the stick of dough into 12-18 pieces (I typically get 16 which make the size in the picture to the right). Form each piece of dough into a roll shape (I make rounds ones you could look up how to do other shapes if you want). Put the rolls on the greased baking sheet, and let them rise in a dark, warm place until doubled in size, 30-45 minutes. (You could preheat the oven for a minute then turn it off and let it cool a bit, just don't turn it back on while there rising!) You want it to be about 100ºF. After they've about doubled in size, take them out and preheat oven to 400ºF. Brush rolls with melted butter, and bake 12-15 minutes. Take them out, let them cool for just a few minutes. They taste the best when they're still hot! In my house, everyones excited when I make them and they're always gone halfway through dinner (that 16 rolls for a family of 4)! Enjoy!
